TikTok Shop launches in five new countries
According to the latest news, TikTok plans to launch new e-commerce services in Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and Mexico.
Based on current information, the product categories and merchant requirements for the five new countries are as follows:
1. Product Categories:
Although the European and Mexican sites accept a variety of product categories, food is temporarily not included in the recruitment scope. In addition, certain categories such as jewelry, mother and baby products, and pet products have some prohibited items.
2. Merchant Requirements:
Merchants must be enterprises or individual businesses registered in Mainland China or Hong Kong. The platform is expected to complete compliance checks on existing merchants by mid-May.
It is especially important to note that merchants wishing to enter European sites must provide EU responsible person information; those wishing to enter the Mexican site must have a Mexican RFC tax number and local warehousing and logistics capabilities.
Additionally, joining these new sites requires an invitation code.
TikTok Shop enters the UK second-hand luxury fashion market
In recent years, the global second-hand luxury goods market has experienced significant growth, becoming an important part of the fashion industry that cannot be ignored. Realizing this, TikTok Shop has decided to enter this field. After successfully operating in the US market for more than six months, TikTok Shop is now turning its attention to the UK market, hoping to replicate its success in the US.
Currently, posts related to the hashtag #secondhandfashion on TikTok exceed 146,600, with total views reaching approximately 1.2 billion.
According to Tuke, initially, TikTok Shop will only feature five UK brands: Sellier, Sign of the Times, Luxe Collective, HardlyEverWornIt, and Break Archive.
In response to the issue of "counterfeit and inferior products" that consumers are very concerned about, TikTok Shop has actively introduced policies, promising a full refund if sellers are found to be selling counterfeit products. In addition, according to Bloomberg, TikTok Shop is also in talks with luxury goods company LVMH to further address the issue of counterfeit products.
In the US, all second-hand brands sold on TikTok Shop must be certified by third-party authentication agencies. To ensure the authenticity of designer handbags on its platform, TikTok has also partnered with authentication service providers Entrupy and Real Authentication.
As TikTok Shop accelerates its global expansion, merchants now have more opportunities for growth. We hope everyone can seize this rare opportunity, fully utilize the advantages of the TikTok Shop platform, gain wider exposure for their products and brands, and achieve vigorous development of their overseas business.
